About

Elisabeth Bertelmann creates luxury, bespoke pieces that are crafted using traditional couture and bobbin-lace techniques to suit the everyday. The collection honours the traditions of couture and bobbin-lace techniques and the design culture of the Wiener Werkstätte, in Vienna. Resulting in a contemporary take on ready-to-wear clothing to be worn effortlessly throughout the seasons. Subtle, sensual and refined in its design, each piece offers a minimal silhouette, mindfully crafted for movement using unique materials. All garments are made in Germany from sustainable materials and produced responsibly through the awareness of environmental and societal concerns. Elisabeth Bertelmann, a German native, who has been working at her studio in Düsseldorf since 2019, worked in the textile industry as a tailor and clothing technician. With her idiosyncratic designs, her aim is to transform couture techniques that define “high dressmaking” in a sustainable and complementary way with combinations of delicate, minimal and fluid forms. Each piece develops as the other one unfolds, to develop a collection of pieces that can be cherished, reinterpreted and worn for years.
